NABMSA is pleased to announce that the winner of the biennial Temperley prize for the best student paper is Danielle Ward-Griffin. Ward-Griffin, a graduate student at Yale University, presented a paper entitled “The Tower and the Lake: Interior and Exterior Spaces in Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw” at the 2010 NABMSA conference in Des Moines. The prize committee (Dorothy DeVal, Peter Horton, and Amanda Winkler) was pleased to select Ward-Griffin’s work from a particularly fine slate of student papers at this year’s conference. Congratulations to Ms. Ward-Griffin!
The 2010 NABMSA conference in Des Moines, held from 29 July to 1 August, has just concluded. Fine papers, pleasant facilities, and a collegial atmosphere made the event a pleasure to attend. The conference program and pictures are now available on the Conferences page.
